Skills Testing and Rehabilitation Software

Our STARS Software is designed to perform separate and distinct tasks.  First, a therapist or clinician must assess critical cognitive, physical, and visual capacities to determine whether a client has the ability to operate a vehicle safely and effectively.

This includes:

  • Reaction time testing

  • Memory retention

  • Field of vision

  • Form and color perception

  • Glare Sensitivity

  • Driving Accuracy

  • Muscle Strength and Repeatability

Our driving simulation assessment and rehabilitation software is then used to evaluate your client's performance in real world driving conditions, which includes driving in busy city traffic, on expressways, at night, in adverse weather, and other risky and complex situations. It features 39 specialized lessons with over 200 driving scenarios and exercises to choose from, as well as the ability to create your own Free Drive scenarios.

Multi-View Instructor Replay enables the review of driving performance from a 360 degree angle, which can be stored and retrieved at a later date. Detailed reporting and the ability to export data also comes standard.

In addition, a range of hardware adaptations are also available including adaptive hand controls, spinner knobs, right-hand turn signals, left foot accelerators and more.

Method of Monitoring and Assessment

Assessment Printout

Our simulators monitor the progress and the performance of each client for the clinician.  The system keeps track of errors and assesses the driver at the end of each chapter.  For example, it will instruct and give feedback to the driver if they are coming out of his/her lane, failing to signal, speeding, improper shifting, not checking blind spots, etc.

The system is also designed to give powerful and timely feedback to each driver as to their progress in the form of graphical icons, narration, and written text on the screen.  Each system operates autonomously but can also be networked to an instructor’s computer, so the instructor has a record of what lessons they have completed and their corresponding assessments.

Each client is assigned a password-protected account, which they access by using the mouse.  Once they have signed on, the system does the rest.  It monitors each student and gives a pass/fails performance assessment at the end of each chapter.  Detailed grading assessments are also provided as part of final drive assessments.
